Find Easy Tips for Calorie Balance

"Calorie is a unit used for energy"

Caloric balance is like a scale. To maintain healthy body weight, you need to ensure that ENERGY IN (calories consumed from food/beverage) = ENERGY OUT (calories burned/used by the body).

If you are eating less calories and more physically active (ENERGY IN < ENERGY OUT), you will lose weight. But, if you are eating more calories than your body is using (ENERGY IN > ENERGY OUT), you will gain weight.

And, below are few easy tips to save/maximize your energy in/out.

Save ENERGY IN (~50 - 100kcal)!

  • Drink plain water instead of
    sweetened beverages
  • Choose 'Small' size set, instead of 'Regular/ Large' set
  • Eat fruit at snack time
  • Ask for "less sweet"/ "less oil"
Maximize ENERGY OUT
(~50 - 100kcal)!

  • At the office, take the staircase
  • Brisk walking with your family/friends
  • Park your car further away from the destination
  • Wash your own car

REMEMBER!
Measure your weight at least ONCE a month. Normally, weight gain takes some time and most of us do not realize. Until the old friends mentioned it or when the time you need to change clothes to a larger size.
