Families under Tabung Amal Aidilfitri Trust Fund (TAA Trust Fund), selected donors, and local football legend, Fandi Ahmad and his family came together for a meaningful Iftar this evening to conclude the MILO® Ramadan Campaign. Guest of Honour Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mayor of South East CDC, also joined in to share in the joyous break fast.

As part of the nationwide campaign, MILO® Singapore galvanised Singaporeans across the island to gift nutritious breakfast baskets to needy families under TAA Trust Fund, a non-profit organization which provides financial assistance to disadvantaged families enabling them to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri. For every $30 spent on MILO® products, MILO® Singapore donated a nutritious breakfast basket to a family. With the help of the community, 1,000 breakfast baskets were successfully raised for beneficiaries

Beneficiaries present at the Iftar this evening at Tanjong Katong Complex were personally gifted breakfast baskets by Guest of Honour, Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman and Fandi Ahmad, providing them with healthy breakfast choices when breaking fast.

MILO® Singapore’s inaugural Ramadan campaign concluded in-store promotions on 11 June. With every $30 spent on MILO® products, members of the public could register to participate in the Ramadan campaign via MMS, mail or at selected roadshows. MILO® Singapore would then donate a breakfast basket to a needy family in the donor’s name. 10 donors were specially selected to break fast together with Fandi and the beneficiaries during tonight’s Iftar.

Speaking on the campaign, Mr Chow Phee Chat, Director, Marketing Communications and Corporate Affairs of Nestlé Singapore shared, “It is wonderful to see Singaporeans step forward to help others and pay it forward in whatever way they can. We would like to thank all individuals, families and Fandi Ahmad for helping us raise breakfast baskets for 1,000 disadvantaged households. As a community we can truly make a positive impact. As Ramadan draws to a close next week, MILO® Singapore would like to wish all our Muslim friends Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri in advance.”

Mr. Muhd Harmizan Head of Exco of Tabung Amal Aidilfitri Trust Fund said, “We are extremely pleased that the campaign has benefitted these disadvantaged households, and inspired the spirit of sharing and giving amongst fellow Singaporeans. The Holy month of Ramadan is not only a time of fasting but also a time of giving and helping those less fortunate in our community. We are thankful for MILO® Singapore’s partnership in spreading the joy of celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri.”

Along with a buffet spread, guests broke their fast with nutritious MILO® beverages, energising them for the night ahead. To ensure one has sufficient energy to sustain the day’s fast, food taken at pre-dawn (Sahur) should be wholesome. Food like oats, multi-grain bread and MILO® are convenient and healthier breakfast choices that provide sustainable energy to keep hunger pangs at bay. MILO® which is specially formulated with ACTIV-GO contains PROTOMALT, B vitamins and minerals, provides consumers with energy to go further. For a nourishing start, two servings of MILO® Nutri GTM, formulated with wholegrains, oats and barley and wheat gives the fibre equivalent to a bowl of rolled oats.
